What to Expect

We want you to feel comfortable, informed, and confident from day one. This page walks you through exactly what happens from the moment you book, through your first few visits, and how we decide what your care should look like.

Your First Visit

1

Booking and intake forms

Book online, and we’ll send you a link to complete your intake forms electronically. If you prefer, you can also complete them in the office.

2

Check-in and getting settled

When you arrive, our front desk team will greet you, confirm your forms are complete, and make you comfortable while you wait.

3

Consultation and health history (OPQRST)

Your doctor will review your history and use a structured consultation to understand your symptoms clearly, including what triggers them, what relieves them, and how they affect your day-to-day life.

4

Examination

Depending on what you’re dealing with, your exam may include posture assessment, range of motion, orthopedic testing, and neurological testing. X-rays are taken only if clinically indicated, and prior imaging is reviewed when available.

5

Explanation of findings and next steps

Your doctor will explain what was found, answer questions, outline how chiropractic care may help, and give you clear home-care recommendations.

6

Your first treatment (in most cases)

Most first visits include a gentle chiropractic adjustment. Depending on your needs, this may include flexion-distraction and manual therapy. Supportive items like braces or cold packs may be recommended when appropriate.

7

Scheduling your follow-ups

Before you leave, we’ll help you schedule follow-up visits based on your condition, your goals, and how you’re responding.

Follow-up Visits

On follow-up visits, care progresses in stages. At the second visit we address any questions, introduce additional home care when needed, and continue with your adjustment along with manual therapy and flexion-distraction when appropriate. By the third visit we often add therapeutic exercises, review technique, and have you practice some in the office, while continuing hands-on care and traction when indicated. From there, visits focus on monitoring symptoms and exam findings each time, progressing home care, and adjusting treatment as needed. Around the tenth visit, we typically re-evaluate to measure progress and decide the best next step.

Our Approach

Case-by-case frequency

We do not force everyone into a fixed “care plan.” Visit frequency is recommended based on your condition, your goals, and how you’re responding.

Clear expectations

Within the first few visits, you should understand your condition, know the plan, and know exactly what to do at home. Many patients notice improvement by visit 3 or 4, and some feel improvement after the first visit.

Straight answers, no surprises

We explain fees in advance and encourage you to ask questions at any time, especially about insurance coverage or payment arrangements.
